Annie's Burger Shack, Nottingham

Annie's Burger Shack is a highly popular American Rhode Island beer and burger bar located in the Centre of Nottingham, nestled down a quiet side street.

We had wanted to dine here on numerous occasions but there had always been a 2 or more hour wait, today however we chanced it and it must have been our lucky day, as they had one table for two!

What first drew me to wanting to eat here is that I am a vegetarian and whilst restaurants are now improving their menu to accommodate us veggies there is still a distinct lack of places for us to eat. Here at Annie's Burger Shack each one of their burgers are available in Vegan, Veggie and Meat. So it gave me plenty of variety and options to choose from.

The menu has such a good variety of burgers to choose from, from the weird to the wonderful! There is The Elvis which is a burger topped with Peanut Butter and Jam.. or The Deathray which is a super spicy concoction of jalapeños and hot chilli paste.

The choice was very difficult but after some tactful deliberation I settled for The Gringo, which is a Mexican style burger topped with a tortilla basket full of refried beans, veg and spicy rice. The Mr opted for The Peppino Pizza burger which is basically pizza topping on a burger! Check out the other options here.

When it arrived I didn't know where to begin, you definitely get a good portion here and will not leave feeling hungry! We tucked in almost immediately and let's just say it didn't look so picturesque once we had finished. The service was great and the burgers were cooked to perfection which is amazing to say how busy it is was.

My Burger was lightly spiced and extremely juicy, being well covered in chilli sauce and topped with crunchy onions and cucumbers. It was a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds. I couldn't quite finish it all but it was delicious.

Our meal, along side a beer and a pint of cola, came to £28.60 which I think is excellent value for money for the quality of food you receive.

The lighting was very dim inside the bar so unfortunately the pictures of us didn't turn out great, instead here's a selfie I took before we left! I'm wearing Rimmel Kate Moss 107 on my lips and my polo neck is from New Look.

I would definitely recommend a trip to Annie's Burger Shack if you're a burger lover or if your a vegetarian looking for a better selection of food, I will certainly be going back! It is best to reserve a table if you can as you may not get a place otherwise, or have a long wait.

I also treated myself to the Canon 1200d DSLR yesterday and I'm still getting to grips with it at the minute but I'm looking forward to providing better quality images for my blog as well as capturing memories in high definition. If any one has any photography tips or lens suggestions send them my way!

6 Reasons Why I Love Autumn.

It's no secret that I love autumn, the atmosphere, the colours, the cosy nights, I just love it all. There's no other season to compare. Sure, summers nice to spend long days outdoors, but I just love a good night in. Maybe that's the granny inside me talking!

I decided to compile a list of reasons why I love this season, a bit of an ode to Autumn if you will. So let's get stuck in and see what sets my heart beating about Autumn.

1. Lazy Mornings In Bed. Cuddling. Fluffy furry blankets. Onesies. I just love my bed and being cosy.

2. New Season Fashion. All the layering, rich colours, cosy knitwear. Buying a new winter coat is the highlight for me.

3. Long Chilly Walks Through Crunchy Golden Leaves. You may all have guessed by now that I'm a walker, I love a long walk through beautiful landscapes, I love it more in Autumn with the spectacular sunsets we get and crunching along through pretty leaves. Bliss.

4. Delicious Filling Food- Good bye Bikini Body! Autumn is the time for food. From chunky homemade soup to anything salted caramel it is the season of indulgence.

5. Bold Sultry Make-up. A striking red lip and smoky golden eye is my favourite Autumn make-up look. I like to experiment with darker colours, embrace my pale skin and leave behind the peaches and pinks of summer.

6. New Home Décor. Aside from new season fashion my next biggest love is home décor. I can't resist a cute mug or a pretty candle. It is an addiction and I may need help.

So these are my top 6 reasons why I love autumn so much, my purse strings may not feel the same way! The fashion is my favourite, I love to have a good clear out of my wardrobe and invest in some good autumn transitional pieces, I may do a post on this soon if anyone would be interested in seeing it.

Also a tea belly like me can't wait for the cold nights, the tea strainer comes out straight away. Peppermint to salted caramel to chocolate chai- scrumptious!

Casual Autumn Walks

There is nothing more I love than a good long walk in the fresh air, if you've read my blog for a while you would have gathered this already.

My walking style is very relaxed and comfortable, but me being me it still has a nod to the trends, with a little bit of 70's flare to this outfit shown through the rust coloured top and the A-line denim skirt.

If you had told me that I would be wearing a denim skirt passed the age of 15 I would have laughed in your face, but here I am after the age of 20 and need to eat my words. I've seen these skirts everywhere and just couldn't help but pick one up, I find that the A-line style is very figure flattering. It has buttons all the way down the front, which I preferred over similar skirts that had press studs down the front as I didn't want to run the risk of it popping open!

I paired the denim skirt with a high neck rust coloured top from Primark and matching ankle boots, also from Primark. I decided to add a scarf as I thought that the outfit lacked a little something without one, and this little silky snake print scarf is a very ancient piece in my wardrobe that was nearly thrown away! I'm glad I decided to keep a hold of it.

When the 70's trend first cropped up I was very sceptical, the flares and bell sleeves did frighten me a tad but it has really grown on me now and the textures and colours are perfect for this upcoming autumn.

Of course it wouldn't be a walk without this little poppet, do I get extra points for matching my outfit to my dog?!

Spicy Sweet Potato & Onion Soup

Hello Guys! Hope you're all well. I decided to make some homemade soup as the weather has been really awful just lately, it has gotten so much colder! I was actually really impressed with how it turned out, super filling and tasty.

It's the perfect autumn soup as it has a little bit of heat to it, just what you need to warm you up after a long autumn walk.

 You Will Need:

- Sweet Potatoes
- Tomato Puree
- Vegetable stock
- 1 onion
- Chilli Powder
- Chives

Step One:
Boil water in a pan.

Step Two:
Peel and chop your onion and sweet potato into chunks, add these to your boiling water and cook until soft.

Step Three:
Add one pot of your vegetable stock and stir until dissolved.

Step Four:
Add salt, one pinch of chilli powder, and one pinch of chives.

Step Five:
Now add half a jar of tomato puree and stir again until smooth. Cook for 2-3 minutes more.

Step six:
Take off the heat and leave to cool slightly, now you can use a hand blender to blend the soup to a consistency of your choice. I like mine with a few little chunks so I blended it a little but mainly left it chunky.

Step Seven:
Garnish with a few more chives, and tuck in with a nice slab of crunchy baguette. Delicious!

What do you like to put in your soup?

That Suede Jacket

Hello there, remember me? I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus as of late! Life has just been so busy with work and days out that time has escaped me. I love writing my blog and had complete bloggers guilt, but at the same time I like to be proud of my posts and therefore didn't want to put up a half-hearted attempt.

Alas, I am back with a post! It's mainly all about the new tanned love of my life, this stunning faux suede jacket. Insert all the heart-eyed emojis. I've been after either a tanned or mustard yellow faux suede jacket for a little while now, but decided maybe the mustard yellow was just a little bit too much out of my comfort zone. That's when I spied this tan beauty in Next. It was hanging there in all of it's glory.

The material is super soft and comfortable. A lot of the faux suede jackets I've tried have been quite stiff materials and I don't like to feel restricted. I also sized up in this jacket so that when it drops a bit cooler I can layer polo neck jumpers underneath, which I think would look very cute. It has press stud poppers and two little pockets. The design itself is very simple, but I like this as it means I can translate it from day to evening very easily.

I wore the jacket with my New look High waisted super skinny indigo jeans, which I may do a whole other post on as I love them. I also wore a simple scalloped white vest, also from New Look and some tan ankle boots from Primark.

The jacket cost £48 but it is an investment piece this autumn and I can't wait to layer it up with cream knits, denim and boots. Bring on those cooler days.

Do you have an A/W staple piece?
