Make Up Masterclass with Cabella Boutique, Nottingham

Cabella Boutique is a one stop shop for all things beauty, and can be found smack bang in the centre of Nottingham on Bridlesmith Walk. Founded by Dannica, Cabella offers a range of makeover treatments to suit all occasions. From an all out full makeover and hair, to sultry eye make-up application, perfect for those nights out on the town.

I was invited down to Cabella Boutique for one of their Make-Up Master classes.

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely ladies at Cabella and offered a glass of champagne. I couldn't believe how adorable the space was, with little quotes dotted around and gorgeous displays, it was insanely pretty. I took a few snaps, as I love interiors, before taking my seat. I'm usually late to everything, but for once I was early, and managed to get a good seat on the front row!

All of the seats had an information pack on them and a very generous goody bag too. The information booklet was super helpful as it listed the looks that were going to be created, as well as all the brushes and cosmetics that were used to achieve them. There was also space on the back to make notes, which was really thoughtful!

The Master Class began once all the bloggers had arrived and taken their seats. We were introduced to the team and the idea around Cabella, what services they have on offer, and a bit about the girls themselves.

We were told to always start with our eyes when creating a smoky effect, as this way it is easy to clean up any fall out from the shadow. What I learnt that I have never done before, is to start with the darker base colour first, and take it all the way up to your brow bone, then go in with the lighter shades. I have always done the lighter shade first then tried to smoke it out with the darker shadow, so I will definitely be giving this tip a go!

The overall look that was created was a dramatic, smoky eye with a pop of glitter, perfect for a special occasion or night out. I was really impressed with the tips we learnt, and also the products that were used. All of the products were extremely affordable, with their own brushes and pigments to a range of L.A girl and Milani cosmetics.

Cabella is all about the sassy glittery eyes, and they have stock of a huge range of amazing pigments. We were given a demo of some of them, and oh my I wanted them all!!

We were incredibly lucky to receive one of these in our goody bag, I had the gorgeous gold, aptly named, 'Vegas' in mine. Even so I still couldn't resist purchasing two more, for £5 each or 5 for £20 they are an absolute steal with how pigmented they are.

The class was the perfect opportunity to learn some new skills and get some inspiration on how to be creative with sultry shadows and sparkly pigments. Dannica, Jordan and Charlie were fantastic at sharing their tips and tricks with us all and brought such a lovely atmosphere to the class. You can attend one of their master classes one on one for £25 or they do group master classes which would be perfect for Hen parties or Birthdays. They even have a 2 day course in September which includes social media and photo training which sounds spectacular! If you want to find out more, Cabella can be found across most social platforms and they have their own website here.

Here is the wedding guest make up I wore using the tips I had learnt at the master class and also their pigment in 'Modesty'

A huge thank you to Cabella for inviting me along to there Blogger Master class, it was such a brilliant event!

Miss Marddles, Matlock

Last weekend we decided to pop into Matlock, although it isn't far from where we live we always tend to visit Matlock Bath instead. We have driven through Matlock a fair few times and every time I've seen a shop or café that I like the look of, so I made it my mission to pop by.

We dropped off our car and headed onto the main street, full of cute eatery's and vintage shops I wasn't sure where to begin!

Mrs Marddles was the first place that caught my eye, with its flowers and vintage bicycle outside I knew it would be right up my street so we made a note to pop back for a bite to eat after have a mooch around the shops.

Once we'd had our fill of treasure hunting, we went to fill our appetites! I adore the treasure trove vintage style of Miss Marddles with pretty trinkets all over the walls, vintage shelves and upcycled furtniture, it was very cute.

The cake stand had caught my eye immediately, however, I thought cake for dinner was probably not my best move and decided to opt for a toasty instead! They also do an afternoon tea, which I will definitely be going back for as I can't resist a scrumptious afternoon tea.

We were served really quickly, and it came on the most adorable floral crockery! I had a cheese and onion toasty and my husband had a tuna one. Both of them went down a treat.

I would recommend if you are in the area and love vintage homeware, and cute cafes, to pay a visit to Matlock. I will be going back again soon as I'm desperate to try out some of there other cafes, such as Mad Hatter and The Snug, so keep your eyes peeled for those in future posts.
